A Reintroduction

Thursday, January 18, 2018

Hi friends!!  I've seen several new faces around here and IG in the past six months or so, and since my friend Emily is hosting a fun link up today, I thought I'd reintroduce myself to those of you who are new!

If you've read my blog before or are new, please leave me a comment below!  I love talking with my readers!!  (If you are a no-reply blogger, I will have to reply back to you on this post instead of in email.)

My name is Sarah and I am from (and still live in) a small town in Alabama.  I teach seventh grade English in the same junior high where I went and with some of the same teachers that I had--which is always so fun!

I married the perfect person for me on July 26, 2014.  You can see all of my wedding posts here.

Other than molding young minds (😂) and blogging, I have many hobbies!  I enjoy reading, cooking, looking at clothes and buying (some of) them, reality tv, sending/receiving snail mail, exercising, drinking expensive coffee, vacationing, watching IG stories, and sitting in book stores or libraries for hours.

I'm not sure if having a birthday can be considered a hobby, but I love my birthdays because that's the one day that's all about me 🙌🙌 #notconceitedatall  #imreallynot

And I love any excuse to dress up!

Recently, I just did a post on 10 Facts About Me, so you should definitely check that out to learn more.

Last August, Dustin and I decided to share publicly our struggle with infertility.  We've gone through multiple rounds of Femara and Clomid, 3 IUIs (or 4?), 1 surgery for endometriosis, 3 rounds of IVF meds, 2 egg retrievals, 1 fresh embryo transfer, and most recently, 1 frozen embryo transfer.  Nothing has worked, but our hope and trust is still, and has always been, in God.  If you'd like to read about our struggle with infertility, click here.

The most important thing you need to know about me--and the most important part of my life--is that I am a follower of Christ.  I strive every day to live my life in a way that brings glory to God.  If you have any questions about my faith, please email me at saraheshaneyfelt@gmail.com because I would LOVE to talk to you!
"So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God."
1 Corinthians 10:31

  3. Sarah, every time I read your struggles with infertility I want to cry! You are such a trooper! I pray we all can understand God's timing and will in this struggle for you! Every time I see you post something I catch my breath and hope you will announce that you are pregnant! We remain hopeful that you will and oh what a blessing that will be! Take care!

  4. Sarah nice to meet you. I am adding you and Dustin to my prayer list. As a mother I've been there - for me I got pregnant but miscarried and miscarried and the doctor's said never, but God said yes the 6th time. Our daughter went thru what you are going through and lost a twin. Our DIL shares her journey. She had our first grandchild born with a horrible disease so they adopted frozen embryos. She lost two or three and a set of twins, but oh the joy this year - she had twin boys and our daughter had a little girl the same month. I have 4 grandchildren from IVF but it was a long journey and me bawling and raising my hands and praying. My DIL blogs about her journey with the disease and adoption of eggs at https://frozenloveblog.wordpress.com/2017/12/27/i-am-your-child-i-am-in-need/.

  8. Thanks for sharing! I think I stumbled upon your blog via Victoria Strader's blog a little before Christmas. I'm from MO and work at Mizzou now, but I lived in Tuscaloosa and worked at UA for a couple years right after grad school! Miss that place so much. :)

  11. How fun that you teach at the same school you went to!! I love that! I really hope your infertility journey ends soon and you are blessed with a little babe - I won't pretend to understand what you're going through but I do have lots of compassion and empathy for people struggling, I've seen it happen to many and it's just not fair

  12. Sarah, I love your blog and read it as often as I can. I'm a California girl with a Southern heart. (I must have been a Southern Belle in another life!) I pray for you and your husband and know your hopes for a baby will come, when the time is right. My parents were married for 15 years before I came along. They never gave up hope. Just know we are all praying for you.

  13. Hey Sarah! I have no clue how I found your blog a while but it was neat learning more about you. We have lots of hobby's in common except for the exercise part. I need to get back on that band wagon. Eek!! I've always lived in a small town in SC and I love it! Small towns are the best. I'll keep you and your husband in my prayers.

  14. I loved learning a little more about you through this post! Shopping, cooking, reading, and exercising are some of my favorites as well. I'm also glad to see that I'm not the only one who loves to hangout in bookstores. My sister and I love going to Barnes & Noble to "hangout." It's so inspiring that you're able to put all of your trust and hope in God during your struggle with infertility. Prayers for you and Dustin during this time.

  20. I love any excuse to dress up too (and especially that blue dress on YOU!)... and sadly don't do it often enough. I mighttttttt have pulled out a cocktail dress for our dinner date last night just because I needed to feel like I was dressing up, lol.
