Friday Favorites!

Friday, August 11, 2017

IT'S FRIDAY!!!  Woohoo!!!  I made it through the first week of school and so far, it's been great!  Thank you so much to everyone who commented or texted that they were praying for me on Wednesday.  It was a great day and I have such a great group of kids!

Now onto my FAVORITES from this week!

On Wednesday, I shared about Dustin's birthday party.  It was definitely my favorite party to date and I had such a great time planning it!

My mom and I work for the same school system and Monday was our institute.  This was our 6th (or 7th??) institute together!  It's always a tradition to take our picture together on those days.  I'm begging my mom to never retire because I love having the option of picking up my class phone and calling her classroom directly 😜

Having a made bed is definitely a FAVORITE.  Dustin can have 10 articles of clothing on the floor next to his side of the bed, but if the bed is made then I feel so much better and those clothes on the floor don't stress me out as much.  (Note: as much)

I went shopping for a back to school outfit (there's no age limit on first day outfits haha!) and ventured into H&M to look.  I'll be honest--Dustin sometimes complains that I only buy expensive clothes and that I could shop a lot cheaper, so I thought I would at least try so I could at least prove to him that the best quality, classic clothes I buy do cost a little more for a reason.  The only thing I found that was school appropriate was this maxi which was really cute, but just not me.  So at least I tried, right?!

A mid-afternoon coffee pick me up is always a FAVORITE!  Pumpkin spice latte season, hurry up!!

necklace | fav wedges | dress--can't find but from Belk recently
Lots of people on my FB and IG feeds posted back to school outfits on Wednesday, so here's mine!!  It was thin and flowy and perfect for the craziness of the first day!

  2. Yay for having the first few days with kids under your belt! I feel like whenever I have tried to shop cheaper, I always regret it, unless it's things like plain white tee's!

  7. Love your back to school outfit!

I'm with you 100% -- quality, well-made classic clothing is the way to go! I always view it as an investment in myself and my wardrobe. :)

I'm literally counting down the days until PSL is released!

    Have a great weekend!

  8. Glad you had a great first week back! You did a great job on Dustin's party. I would much rather have a few more expensive, quality pieces than a ton of cheap clothes. Nothing better than a made bed :) It makes the whole house feel cleaner!

  9. I stopped shopping at H&M and Forever 21 a few years ago when I wore the same top as one of my 8th grade students, lol. Totally worth the extra $$$ for quality, I tell my husband the same.

  13. So fun you and your momma get to work together! We dont' go back until the 28th....can you believe that?!! Seems super late to me. And I can absolutely relate to the bed being made and not being as annoyed about the clothes on the floor. I seriously can't even with those few little things my man does that make me crazy.

  14. I can totally relate to the clothes on the side of the bed thing :) My husband has literally started to throw his clothes on TOP of the closed hamper which is progress compared to the floor but I'm like... OPEN THE LID, INSERT THE DIRTY CLOTHES, CLOSE THE LID! :) Too funny.
