Friday Favorites!

Friday, January 29, 2016

Yay Yay Yay for Friday!!!!

This week has felt so long!  Literally yesterday I woke up thinking, "It's only Thursday?!?!"  But I'm thankful for another weekend where I can rest and renew myself (and get a lot of things done!).

This guy obsessing over our tax stuff is a FAVORITE of mine.  I'm so glad I married someone who cares as much as he does!  When I had to file my own taxes, I pretty much just gathered what I could find and called it a day.  Anyone else out there like me??

Dustin's hunting stuff had been in the floor by the chest of drawers in our room for over a week.  I cannot stand having clothes in the floor--definitely not a FAVORITE.  I finally told him to do something with his hunting stuff, and he did.  A few days later I had to look in the closet under the stairs and I looked to the left and found his hunting stuff...

My MIL called last night telling us to use their Kroger points on gas because they were about to expire for the month.  We both happened to be on empty, so we went to fill up our cars.  Do you see how much we paid per gallon of gas???  It cost $29.50 to fill up my car and his truck!  Definitely my FAVORITE moment of the week!  Thanks, Jackie!

A store I shop at downtown is closing.  Yesterday they started their going out of business sale.  I couldn't resist buying these things, and I'll be going back when they mark things down even more!  There were a few things I wanted but decided I could wait a little longer.  Placing these throughout my house yesterday was a FAVORITE!

What's Up Wednesday--January 2016

Wednesday, January 27, 2016

Today I'm linking up with my most favorite blog ever, Mix and Match Family, for What's Up Wednesday!

What we're eating this week...
I'm slacking on cooking this week because I'm overloaded with assignments and then Dustin will be gone this weekend hunting (yay for the end of deer season!).  So far this we (meaning me haha) have eaten cereal and Green Chile Chicken Tacos.

What I'm reminiscing about...
Take me back to the beach!  I'm so over winter and the rainy weather.  January through March are my least favorite months because of weather.  I'm so ready for the sun and warmer temps--and the beach!

What I'm loving...
Early morning workouts with my sister!  We have been meeting at the gym every Tuesday and Thursday morning for the 5 AM class.  It's been so nice to have someone to keep me accountable because I would really prefer to sleep in since it's cold and dark outside at 4:45 when I'm leaving.  For those of you who don't think you could work out that early during the week.....Yes you can!!!  The first week was hard, but it's been much easier the more I've done it!

What we've been up to...
Grad school, work, and more work.  Oh, and hunting but that's over this weekend!!!

What I'm dreading...
This is such a broken record, but I'm so tired of grad school and the amount of work (that makes me sound so lazy, but it's just insane!).  I'll be so ready for it to be over

What I'm working on...
Finding joy in all situations!

What I'm excited about...
Janie (my bff) and I are going to a concert in our old college town in May.  It's a band I've wanted to see for years, and the date is extra special because it's the last day of my last grad school semester!  I can't think of a better way to celebrate!!  (Along with a nice day at the spa ;)  Hint hint, Dustin)
This was us at Janie's bridal tea at church!  My hair was so blonde!

What I'm watching/reading...
I don't have time really to watch TV for fun or read for fun, but I'm making time for The Bachelor!!  I think Caila is my favorite right now because she seems wholesome and normal--except for the fact that she broke up with her boyfriend when she saw Ben on The Bachelorette?

What I'm listening to...
Lots and Lots of The Avett Brothers!!!!

What I'm wearing...
Gym clothes...

This gorgeous dress from Anthropologie...

And my Converse!

What I'm doing this weekend...
This weekend I'll work on grad school work, do a little furniture shopping, and catch up on TV!

What I'm looking forward to next month...
It's one month closer to summer!!

What else is new...
Nothing much!

And congratulations to Heather F. for winning the $15 card to Starbucks!!  Heather, I emailed you last night, so check your email!

Thanks to everyone who entered!  I plan on doing another giveaway this summer to celebrate my graduation from graduate school!

Chocolate Buttercream Icing Recipe

Tuesday, January 26, 2016

(Oops, just realized that I forgot to change the time when I scheduled it never posted today!!!)

I had intended on posting a different recipe today, but after I received lots of comments about the cake picture from yesterday, I decided to swap posts!  So next Tuesday I'll have an awesome recipe to make for Valentine's Day :)

On Saturday I decided to make a plain flavored bundt cake because I wanted to try my hand at making a homemade chocolate buttercream icing.  I've had it only a handful of times, and I wanted to see how difficult it would be to make.  Good's so EASY!  And actually I played around with the measurements so unfortunately they probably aren't too accurate.  Translation:  You can't mess it up!

Chocolate Buttercream Icing

 1 stick butter, softened
1 Tsp vanilla extract
dash of salt
1 (16 oz) package of powdered sugar
1/3 cup cocoa (the recipe called for 2/3 cup and I used half)
5 to 7 TBS milk

1. Beat together butter, vanilla extract, and salt.
2. Begin slowly adding in the powdered sugar alternating with 1 TBS of milk.  Do this until you reach your desired consistency.  If you look at my picture above, you'll see that my icing is thicker since I knew I wanted to use it on top of my bundt cake.
3. Add in your cocoa last and mix well!

You will love this recipe.  Your family will love this recipe.  Everyone will LOVE this recipe!  Enjoy and try not to eat it all in one sitting :)

Weekend Recap: Blizzard 2016 Edition

Monday, January 25, 2016

This weekend was a little extra-long because of the snow.  We had an early dismissal on Friday, and the few hours that we were at school, we all kept looking out the window waiting on the snow.  I was finally able to leave school at noon and that's when it started sleeting.  It wasn't sticking so I stopped by Subway for a pizza.  (If you haven't ever had a pizza from Subway, you should!  They are good and solve your pizza fix!)

I took this picture just as the snow started sticking to the ground.  This was probably around 1-1:30 that afternoon.

That evening after Dustin got home from work and we ate dinner, he wanted to get a picture of our house in the snow since it's our first snow there.  The amount of snow pictured is how much snow we got during our "blizzard" haha!  Being a southern girl, this was the perfect kind of snow--not too much and doesn't stick to the road so I can go places the next day!

Our attempt at a snow selfie in front of our house!

My sister facetimed me Saturday morning while I was looking at dining room tables.  We decided to go to the gym together after she got out of bed :)

I did the usual on Saturday--laundry, grocery shopped, cooked dinner.  Then I decided to try my hand at making a homemade chocolate buttercream icing.  IT WAS DIVINE!  I'll be posting the recipe soon because it was so easy to make.

On Sunday I had church.  I watched the remake of Cinderella for the first time ever--and teared up during it.  The storyline was so beautiful and I loved the theme of "Have courage, and Be kind."  After I got home from church on Sunday night, Dustin was home and we hung out until it was time for bed.

How was your weekend?

Friday Favorites!

Friday, January 22, 2016

Thanks to the prediction of snow for the South, we are getting out of school today at 11:30 AM!!  Woohoo!  That's my number one FAVORITE today!!!  It'll be nice to have an extra-long weekend!

My sister Rachel started a blog this week!  She's been such a superstar poster and has posted every day!  Reading her blog is a morning FAVORITE!  Be sure to check it out and leave her a comment!

Wednesday I posted about my workout schedule during this crazy season in my life, I definitely would not be able to make it through the day without my morning glass of Spark.  Rachel also sells Advocare and I drink one glass each morning as I get ready.  My FAVORITE flavor is mango strawberry!

I came across this on Instagram the other day and had to screenshot it--can I have this dining room?  The table and chairs are a major FAVORITE and I'm even inspired to repaint my dining room a very light cream.  These are a need!

Last night we stopped by Krispy Kreme because 1. they just opened one in the next town over and 2. Stoney (our nephew) had never had a hot donut.  Stoney's in the back with a dozen donuts to himself and Dustin is pumping up the insulin after his 2 donuts.  But having a fresh donut last night was great because I had my FAVORITE!

Don't forget to enter my Starbucks card giveaway!  You've got all weekend to do so!

Quirks + a Giveaway!

Thursday, January 21, 2016

I've been reading lots of posts where people are confessing embarrassing things about themselves--Andrea had her Momfessionals day, Erika has her Owning It posts, and Mackenzie posted yesterday a list of confessions.

I have something to confess:  I LOVE reading these!  It's comforting to know that other people have their quirks and are weird different than what's considered the "norm."

So I asked Dustin about some of the quirky things that I do or about some of my stranger tendencies.  Keep in mind that these are written by him.  My thoughts are italicized below!

1. Alarm clock times.
She doesn't set the alarm clock for normal times like 5:30 or 6:00 but sets if for times like 5:32, 5:37, or 6:03.
Haha!  I do this because I feel like I get a few extra minutes!

2. Fork size.
No matter where we are, she has to have a kid sized fork.
Yes, I like kid-size forks.  I'm the only one at the dinner table that still uses them haha!

3. Showering every night.
No matter what time of night it is that we get home, she takes a shower.  For example, we get home from a concert at 1 in the morning and she still takes a shower before she gets in bed.  Me...brush my teeth and I'm out.
What can I say, I like to feel clean when I get in bed to go to sleep!

4. She never wears ball caps.
I find it weird that even on lazy days or days that we do outdoor activities, she never wears a ball cap.  I don't even think she owns one.
Nope--no ball caps here.  I look weird in them!

5. The eye pillow.
I feel like I'm married to Ray Charles!  She always has it on in the mornings before I leave for work and I can never look her in the eyes telling her bye.
He makes it sound like I sleep with that all the time!  I do put it over my eyes when he gets up to get ready for work since it's like 3:30 AM and his cell phone is so bright.  Whatever helps me sleep!

6. Sleeping like a mummy.
She lays flat on her back all night with her arms straight to her side and the blankets encased around her (not an ounce of air can get in).
I'm a back sleeper (sometimes a side sleeper) but I do like having the covers tucked around me--this probably stems from childhood and my mom doing it to me.

7. Chapstick every night before going to sleep.
Even after I kiss her at night before going to sleep, she has to reapply the chapstick.
Yep, I like my lips to stay hydrated during the night!

What about you--what are some of your quirks?

Now for the Giveaway!  I am giving away a $15 Starbucks card (because I have a new found love for coffee) and this will run through Monday at midnight!
Check out Christina's blog today for a little write up about me since I'm sponsoring her blog this month!

Sense of Sarah: Working out When You're Busy

Wednesday, January 20, 2016

Working out is not something that I enjoy, but it is something that I really enjoy the way it makes me feel.  I blogged about my weight loss journey back in 2014 (which feels like forever ago!) and so if you followed me back then, you know that working out is something I have to do to maintain my weight.

Because grad school literally takes up all of my free time (but the end is near!), I've had to adjust my work outs to fit my schedule.  I don't work out as near as much as I want to, but it works for this season of life that I am in.

This is what I do now:

On Tuesdays/Thursdays I...

Wake up at 4:20 AM.
Jillian Michaels BodyShred class at gym--5:00-5:45 AM

This was taken after Rachel and I survived a brutal class one morning.

On Saturdays I have a few options...

-Go to the gym sometime that morning to complete this workout:

This was in one of my Shape magazines and I change up the weight part every now and then.  You can customize it to fit you!  I keep the 5 minute jog and running for .25miles unchanged.

-Go to the stadium to run bleachers and run laps around the track for 30-35 minutes

-Run in my neighborhood and surrounding neighborhoods for 2-3 miles

This will change once I graduate from grad school, but sometimes you have to make sacrifices.  I don't enjoy getting up early those two mornings during the week, but I also don't have time after school is over because I come home and do grad school work (plus cook dinner or any other obligation I might have)--I just don't have time in the afternoons during this time in my life.

Hopefully this has encouraged you to find some sort of time to work out!  You may be busy, but your health never needs to be neglected!

Cinnamon Apple Oatmeal (in the Crockpot!)

Tuesday, January 19, 2016

(My sister started her own blog yesterday and already has 2 posts up!  Go visit it and leave her a comment!)

I feel the need to start this post off with an apology for how bad the photo below is.  Since this was a new recipe, I was so excited to try it when I woke up Monday morning that I forgot to take a picture!  And then I packed it all away before I realized that I still hadn't taken a decent photo.  So the one that I took to send to my mom will have to do.

I found this recipe in a cookbook I bought shortly after Christmas that was on sale.  I knew that Sunday night would be the perfect night to prep this recipe since I was out of school on Monday.  I'll be honest....the first bite was a little strange (only because I'm not used to steel-cut oats), but the more I ate of it the more I loved it!

Cinnamon Apple Oatmeal

1 cup steel-cut oats (uncooked)
1-2 apples, peeled, cored, and chopped (I used 2 Honey Crisp)
2 cups of milk
1 1/2 cups of water
1/2 cup of unsweetened applesauce (Make sure it says Unsweetened when you buy it)
1/4 cup packed brown sugar (I used Splenda brown sugar)
1 Tbs butter, diced
1 tsp cinnamon (I probably used a little more than that)

1. Spray your crockpot (or crockpot liner) with non-stick veggie spray.
2. Add all of the ingredients and stir.
3. Cover and cook on low for about 7 hours.
4. Enjoy!!!  (Stir in a little more milk or water if it's too thick for you.)

This is a great breakfast for a busy morning that is both filling and healthy!

Weekend Recap!

Monday, January 18, 2016

It's Monday morning and I'm typing this while sitting in front of the fire with the Today Show on the TV.  I love off days!  MLK day comes at the perfect time in January because it's like you need a little short break from school even though you just had two weeks off at Christmas.  Plus, it's cold today, so it was nice to not have to get up at 5 AM and get ready.

Here's a little look at what I did this weekend:

I woke up Saturday morning and finished my grad school homework for the week and submitted it.  I had already finished everything for one class and just needed to finish an assignment for my other class.  Then I headed to the gym.  (Also, Saturdays are for washing sheets.)

Janie came into town on Saturday so we had plans to meet at the local coffee shop to grab a cup (since I'm a coffee drinker and all haha) but it was closed #smalltownprobs.  So we went to McDonalds to grab a McCafe.  I wish we lived in the same town again!

Then I headed to Bridge Street to do some shopping.  My main reason for going was to go to Sephora to pick up some retinol night cream by Philosophy.  It turns out that they were out of the regular size tube and only had the large one--for $75.  Since I haven't ever used it before, I just decided to order it and headed over to Anthropologie to check out their sale on sale.  They didn't have anything I liked in the sale area, and I had been eyeing this dress since it came out so I got it!

Then I walked over to DSW to find some white Converse.  I've needed a casual shoe to wear with skinny jeans and a t-shirt or casual top.  I pretty much only own skinny jeans and I got tired of wearing moccasin flats with t-shirts.  Now I can look like all of my students haha! #foreveryoung

For supper, I headed over to my favorite grocery store to eat off of their salad bar.  Seriously, it's so good!

Late Saturday night I turned on the fight on Showtime.  Weird fact about me:  My dad's side loves boxing and I can remember going to family gatherings as young as elementary school age to watch a rented fight.  I even watched the fight where Mike Tyson bit Evander Holyfield's ear!  Anyway, a guy from Tuscaloosa was defending his heavyweight title against a Polish guy so I watched that fight--it was a great fight!!!  Oh and he won so Tuscaloosa is filled with championship titles!  Roll Tide!

Sunday morning I went to church and then came home and changed into my regular clothes to go grocery shopping.  I'm loving these shoes!

And since Dustin had been gone since Thursday to go hunting, I was very excited when he got home Sunday afternoon!  It was getting very lonely around the house.  He also shot at a big doe and hit her, but since it was right before dark, he had a hard time tracking her through the thick stuff.  Then he couldn't find her on Sunday after his morning hunt, so no deer for us :(  One more off weekend for Dustin during deer season and then I get my husband back!

My mom and stepdad cooked us steaks on Sunday night.  Look at how cute my mom is.

They were so excited to take a picture haha!

Love the height difference between Dustin and Rachel!

Our steaks were so good and my brother-in-law brought pheasant that he had killed on Saturday and it was great!  I ended Sunday night prepping a healthy cinnamon apply oatmeal recipe in the crockpot to cook overnight.  It was so good this morning that I'll be blogging the recipe soon.

Friday Favorites!

Friday, January 15, 2016

It's Friday y'all and I have LOTS of FAVORITES today!  My number one favorite is the fact that this weekend is a three day weekend!  It's much needed and I can't wait to have extra time to do all the things I need to do and fit in a little relaxing, too.

I posted this recipe on Wednesday and it was a FAVORITE for a lot of readers!  Yes, Valentine's Day is a month away, but it's never too early to start enjoying a little Valentine sweets!  And plus, I love holiday-themed sweets!

Tuesday I went back to the dermatologist for a check up and then to discuss skincare with her.  I love going to her office because it looks like Restoration Hardware inside.  The outside is a gorgeous mix of brick and stone and the inside is even better.  I tried to inconspicuously snap these photos of the waiting room (which is why they are such bad quality), but you get the picture.

And these light fixtures......a FAVORITE for sure.  If I had a two story foyer, I would have one of these in it.  Next time I visit my derm, I'm asking her where she bought these light fixtures.

Ever since Victoria and I began discussing doing a link up together, we never imagined that people would actually link up!  We were texting each other all day talking about how ecstatic we were with how the link up was going!  Yesterday's link up was so fun, and I have a great list started for this year.  I am so thankful that people took the time to link up!  My new FAVORITE link up, for sure!

On Wednesday, we had advisory at school.  Advisory is time set aside in the morning for me to get to know the 15ish kids that I am assigned--I know their grades and goals, we talk about what they are struggling in school-wise, etc.  Lots of one-on-one conferencing.  This past Wednesday we spent the time coming up with our One Word for 2016.  (I'm sure you've seen these on other blogs or social media.)  My word was Joy and I explained to my students that this year I'm focusing on finding my joy in the Lord and not in things like my job or my husband.  (It was probably illegal to say that but oh well.)  This advisory was my FAVORITE because I got to see what all my kids were focusing on and we talked about it.  Then we took pictures--can I point out that I was having a really good hair day that day? haha!

I got this painting from a local artist from my mom and just dropped it off to get framed at our local frame store.  I love the way it turned out and how it's going to add some color to our walls.  This frame is my FAVORITE!

Book Club Thursday

Thursday, January 14, 2016

It's here!  It's here!  I have been waiting (not so patiently) for this link up.  This link up was born out of a shared love of reading between Victoria and I.  I am SO excited to get some great book recommendations and make my reading list for 2016.  Trust me, once I graduate from grad school in May, I will be reading all summer long!

First I want to recap the books I read in December 2015....all two of them.  I had big plans on reading a lot since I had a month long break from grad school, but instead I watched a million Christmas movies.

I saw this movie preview when I saw Mockingjay Part 2 and it looked interesting.  Then I had a student read the book one day while in class.  She let me borrow it once she finished it and once I started reading it, I could not put it down!  It's a thick book, but the action is so suspenseful that you really won't be able to stop reading it once you start.  If you like books like The Hunger Games, Divergent (even though that one wasn't my fav), or anything that has a dystopian society, you will want to read this!

And this leads me into the second book I read in December...the sequel!

Again, so entertaining and suspenseful.  The only bad part?  It ended and I have to wait until May for the third book to come out.

Below are a few of the books I enjoyed reading during 2015....
(click on each title to read more)

This book is based on a true story of the last woman who was sentenced to death in Iceland.  It sounded so boring and not my typical book, but since it was part of my book club, I read it and I'm so glad I did.  I really felt bad for the main character and it was sad knowing it was a true story.

I loved that this book was told from two different life stories.  Both stories started from the same bar and it showed us, the reader, what the main character's life would be like if she left the bar in two different ways.  Very interesting and I liked it!  It also had two different love stories, so yeah..I liked it!

Multiple life stories are intertwined with the story of how wine is made.  The main character shows up at her parents' vineyard in her wedding dress after seeing her fiancĂ© with another woman.  Read the book to find out what happens!

I loved Eight Hundred Grapes so much that I bought this book right after reading the first.  The main characters long-term relationship ends and she marries another guy after knowing him a very short time.  Then guy #1 shows back up and she questions her new marriage.  I thought I was going to be mad reading this book but it turned out exactly how I wanted it to!

This is a young adult lit book about kids from the 80s.  Two unlikely kids fall in love for the first time in their life.  This isn't a fairytale ending because unfortunately, it's real life for some kids.  I wish I could read this with my students but language and mature content prevents me from doing that.

This book was suspenseful in that I really could not figure out what was going on!  Dustin read this book and liked it--and Dustin does not read haha!   I'm not into legal thrillers, but this book was SO good!  (Another book club pick)

Like the rest of America, I'm obsessed with the royal family.  I read this and dreamed about what it would be like if I never met Dustin and instead married William or Harry.  (Since you're reading this Dustin, know that I am so glad I married you and I wouldn't wish for anything to be different!)

This was another book club pick and another book I wish I could read with my students.  Read this and it will keep you guessing the whole time.

Red Velvet Valentine Bars

Wednesday, January 13, 2016

The one thing I love about Valentine's Day is that the color pink is associated with it. I know that sounds so dumb, but I'm not big on making a huge deal out of the holiday.  Sure, I'm going to take advantage of going out to eat if Dustin is off, but that's about the extent of our Valentine's Day celebrating.

If you're looking for a quick and easy, but really cute Valentine's Day sweet, then try these bars!  Your sweetie will love them!  (And so will your mom!)

Red Velvet Valentine Bars

1 box Red Velvet cake mix
2 eggs
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 cup Valentine M&Ms

1. Preheat oven to 350 and grease a 9x13 pan.
2. Mix all ingredients except M&Ms--your dough will be tough like cookie dough so hand mix
3. Mix in 1 cup of M&Ms
4. Evenly press into your baking dish and bake for 14 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
5. While hot, press in a few extra M&Ms for added effect!  Enjoy!

TOMORROW, Victoria and I are hosting our first Book Club link up!  You can link any post you want on books--reviews, recommendations, books you heard were good and want to read--any post!

Sense of Sarah: Cleaning

Monday, January 11, 2016

Happy Monday, y'all!  I know that technically today should be a weekend recap post, but since I didn't really do anything major this weekend except clean, I thought I would tie that into another Sense of Sarah post.....on cleaning.  Those who know me know that I'm a very clean and organized person.  I thrive in a clean environment.  I don't know about you, but I love learning about the cleaning routines of other people because I'm always looking for a way to do something different and better than what I'm already doing.  If that's not you, then feel free to skip today's post!  Click here to see past Sense of Sarah posts.

Dishes--wash every day and run the dishwasher once a week
Kitchen counters--wipe down every day with Lysol wipes
Hardwoods--sweep every other day
Kitchen table--wipe down after supper each night
Laundry--do one load each night or every other night

Master bedroom--wash sheets, dust, vacuum
Master bath--sweep/mop, toilet, trash, tub, shower, sinks
Open living area--dust
Guest bed/bath--vacuum, sweep/mop, toilet, trash (if any), sink

-I keep cleaning supplies in each area that I will be using them.  For example, I keep all bathroom supplies that I need to clean the master bathroom in there, and the guest bath on the other side of the house also has the cleaning products I will use in there....same thing for upstairs (except I only clean that bathroom about once a month since no one goes up there.)  This keeps me from having to tote around a bunch of cleaning products.

-I keep all cleaning rags in a central location.  I also wash them separately from my other towels so that I don't get them mixed up.
Cleaning rags are in the box and the towels on the right are in case there's a major spill, etc.

What are your tips and tricks to cleaning your house?

Friday Favorites!

Friday, January 8, 2016

I finished up my first week back to school today and I'm looking forward to the weekend more than ever.  It'll be my last free weekend until grad school starts back :(  I still can't believe that it's already 2016!  I graduated from high school in 2006, so my ten year high school reunion will be this year--that's so weird to think about!  I still feel like I'm 23 or 24 and trying to figure life out.

Okay, enough freaking out about the current year and let's look at my list of FAVORITES!

Rachel started a new job while I was out for Christmas break, and her new job gives her an hour lunch break!  Woohoo!  Lunch dates with my sister are my FAVORITE!  We ate at a new restaurant in downtown Decatur and we both had really good sandwiches.  I love a good sandwich.

Dinner dates with this stud are another FAVORITE!  I had particularly hard day on Sunday, so when he got home from hunting he voted that we go out for supper. #winning

Now that I've turned 28, I've decided it's time to really be an adult and drink coffee.  We don't have a Starbucks in my town #smalltownprobs.  I was going to head to Starbucks for coffee before I had to be at school Monday for a teacher workday--but I slept in.  So I tried a mocha from McDonalds--it was okay, but definitely not my Starbucks.

My new curtains for the living room are my FAVORITE!  And I love them so much that I ordered a matching set for the breakfast room.  As you can see from the picture, the curtain rod I bought is too long, but ehh, we'll deal with it.

Okay so I went to Sephora to get my skin matched for new foundation because I hated what I was using currently.  I AM OBSESSED WITH THIS NEW FOUNDATION AND IT IS A FOREVER FAVORITE!  See how excited I am about it!  My face is oily and I'm used to blotting it mid-day.  Um, not anymore.  Not pictured is the primer I use (Laura Mercier oil free) but with the primer and the foundation, I never, and I repeat NEVER, blot my face anymore!  It's amazing and I wish they would let me be a brand rep because I love that product so much!

Lots of FAVORITES in this picture--the Mahogany Teakwood candle, having a candle lit in the bathroom while I'm getting ready every morning, and the new pedestal I bought for it.  Getting ready for the day is sweeter with a sweet smelling candle!

This link up is a new FAVORITE!  It's on Thursday and all you have to do is link a post of a book recommendation or book review.  I need recommendations for my 2016 reading list and I bet you do too!
