My House Tour--Master Bedroom and Bath

Wednesday, November 11, 2015

Before I start today's house tour, I want to thank all of the veterans!  I am so grateful for the men and women who are willing to serve our country so that we can sleep soundly at night knowing we are safe!

In between my monthly House Tour Tuesdays, I've been showing bits and pieces of our home.  We finished building and moved into our home in June 2015.  I've decided that even though I'm not finished decorating our house (and probably won't be for a few years because...$$$), I still want people to come and feel welcome!  You can click on this link to see the other areas of my home that I've posted about, but today we're going to check out the master side of my home.

This is the only photo I took of our bedroom.  It's nothing special right now--I'm still searching for artwork that is meaningful instead of just buying something for the sake of buying.
The entrance to the bathroom is a pocket door and it tucks into the wall space to the right of the door frame.  Does anyone have a suggestion of what I can put in that area since I've been told I can't hang anything because of the pocket door?

Not pictured:  the closet to the left of the mirror and the two windows.

When we build again, I'm getting separate vanities and I'm having tons of drawers on mine!  I LOVE having separate sinks, but I use the two bottoms drawers and that's not enough!

My FAVORITE part of my house!!!  I'm in love with this shower!  It's huge and when we first moved in, I took extremely long showers!

I love taking a good bath too with lavender oil.  I've found out that if I put my head on the end with the faucet, I can watch TV while bathing!  #itsthelittlethings

This pocket door leads to our closet.  I need major help organizing my shelves--which is why the door is closed :)

This door leads to my #1 request in a house....actually not #1 but definitely on my top 5 list when we were looking at home and house plans.  If you know me at all, then you know how important it was for me to have a separate toilet room.  #enoughsaid

I know I have a lot of work to do decorating and making our room more homey.
 What do you suggest?

I'm linking up with Jenn today!

  1. Ohhh... it's so beautiful! I am new to stopping in over here, so I will have to check out the other rooms you have shared. I love that big mirror you have against your wall. I have been eyeing one up in the hopes of adding it to our house soon. ;)

  2. Umm yep that shower is pretty fantastic!! Can't wait to see what you decide on for above your bed! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston

  3. Seriously in love with your whole house! I can't wait until we build!!!!! My husband would love that shower! And YES on the toilet room, fingers crossed that the house we move into will have one lol. Where did you get that big mirror in your bedroom? I love it, and I am on the search for one for when we move into a house and have a bigger bedroom lol.

  4. LOVE your bathroom and that mirror in your bedroom! Also the color of your bedroom walls is beautiful!

  5. Your shower looks amazing!!!!! I have that in our plans for when we move!

  6. Looks great so far! Our closet is off our bathroom too and I really love having it just out of the way!

  7. I love it! The white bedding is so pretty and I LOVE the color! I bet you could still hang something on the wall with the pocket door...just something light, then use 3M strips to attach! I feel like the bedroom is where you can make things all about you guys...lots of wedding pictures, monograms, just anything special for the two of you!

  8. I also have a pocket door between my bedroom and bathroom. I chose some light weight canvas prints and used the command strips to hang them :-)

  9. This is very good looking. I really like the shower. It looks very species and the little seat is very nice. I feel like people think that a shower seat is so unnecessary. Sometimes I get dizzy and I want to sit down but I do not just want to sit on the shower floor. Or I need to shave.

  10. I get the need for more than one sink in the bathroom, especially for the morning rush when people want to clean up at the same time. Hiring experts in bathroom refurbishment is the way to go. They will help you get the installations you want to fit the space available. It also helps to have an expert opinion on the most suitable materials for your bathroom use.
