What's Up Wednesday--September 2015

Wednesday, September 30, 2015

Can you believe that today is already the last day of September??  It feels like September just started and now October starts tomorrow--crazy!
I'm linking up with Shay for this month's What's Up Wednesday!

What we're eating this week...
Lots of leftovers and random meals!  I didn't get to go grocery shopping this past weekend since I was gone to Indianapolis, so this week I've just been pulling random things together. Sunday I experimented with a new cake recipe that I'm going to redo and add to the blog.  The other night I made these Pumpkin Muffins and Dustin is still eating on them!

What I'm reminiscing about...
In October of last year, I spent my birthday weekend standing beside my best friend on her wedding day!  I can't believe it's already been a year--such a fun wedding with absolute perfect weather!

What I'm loving...
The new scarf and leggings that I'm talking about below in the "What I'm wearing" section.  Seriously, I'm obsessed with them!

What we've been up to...
We took some walks on days that the weather was really nice.

We spent opening day of dove season together.

We did some cleaning outside.

We got a selfie stick and played around with it.

I went to the Revive '15 conference on women teaching women the Bible.

What I'm dreading...
My finals for this term are next week and my cataloging class has been the hardest class out of all of my classes for library media.  I'll take that final next Tuesday and I'm hoping for an A--if I get an A, it will be the hardest A I've ever had to earn!

What I'm working on...
My masters degree.....still.

What I'm excited about...
I'm excited about multiple things--the weather cooling off, a day trip we've got planned, and MY BIRTHDAY!!!!  October is my birthday month and I can't wait!

What I'm watching/reading...
I'm about to start A Week in Winter for my October book club book.  I've got last week's episodes of Grey's and Scandal to catch up on.

What I'm listening to...
I might have already started listening to a little bit of Christmas music.....Janie and Rachel will understand haha!  It's not all the time but I love Christmas music so much that I listen to it some mornings as I get ready.

What I'm wearing...
I love this scarf that I ordered from Nordstrom so much that I'm ordering it in other colors.  I also felt the mid-70s temp on Monday meant a scarf was suitable!

I ordered these leggings from GAP after reading about them on Mix and Match Family.  These are the most perfect material ever!!  They are a soft material and I love the cuff at the feet--they will be perfect with Uggs this winter.  I'm also going to order another pair of these. (I should have at least gotten the oil off of my face, but welcome to the end of the school day Sarah.  Real life right there.)

What I'm doing this weekend...
Catching up on tv??  We don't really have any plans this weekend because Dustin is on days, but I do know Saturday he plans on watching football--looks like I will too.  Oh, I'll definitely study for my finals next week!

What I'm looking forward to next month...
My birthday!!!!!

What else is new...
Nothing is new--I'm still trying to add little pieces to our house little by little.  Next up on my list is to get a runner for the entryway.  I've found a few that I like--now to narrow it down!

Bonus Question:
What is my favorite Halloween tradition...
We haven't had time to carve out our Halloween traditions as a married couple since my sister got married on November 1st last year--we spent Halloween at her rehearsal dinner.  This year since we're in our new house and it's in a subdivision, I'm hoping for trick-or-treaters!  And I may make a few Halloween themed sweets :)

  1. The wedding last year looks just gorgeous! We've been loving getting some walks in during this cooler weather too - just hating that we have to hurry after work since it's getting darker earlier!

  2. I LOVE those leggings. I saw those on Shay's blog, too, and really wanted to try them. Those flowers from your friends wedding are just gorgeous...I don't think I have seen them used before in a wedding and I am in love!

  3. This is our first official Halloween in our house too (we were on our honeymoon last year) so we can't wait! Glad to hear you like the leggings Shay recommended, I'll have to check them out at the mall this weekend!

  4. I love, love, love Christmas music and will turn it on whenever I need a quick pick me up. :)

  5. I'm working on my Masters too so I feel ya with all the work! Also, I love love your gap leggings, perfect for the cold dreary days. :)

  6. I've been eyeing that scarf! Love that color you got! I may just have to get it now :) Pumpkin muffins are on my weekend list to do... those are the BEST! :)
